DR. KELLEY R. KENNEY, FOUNDER

Dr. Kenney began her career in higher education as a clinical professor in the Department of Counseling & Psychological Services at Kutztown University providing counseling, advisement, and support services for students. This role later expanded to supervising and training graduate students pursuing counseling and higher education careers. Several years later, she transitioned to full-time teaching of counseling and higher education graduate students and soon after was promoted to the coordinator/director of Kutztown University’s Student Affairs in Higher Education Graduate Program, a role she held for almost two decades.

Following her retirement from Kutztown, she was invited by DeSales University to launch their Higher Education Graduate Program. As its founding director and full-time professor, Dr. Kenney was instrumental in the program’s noteworthy success, and in 2024 she decided to pass the torch onto the next generation, and officially retired from higher education. In addition to having spent years at both Kutztown and DeSales, she also had numerous affiliate and adjunct teaching roles at George Washington University, Reading Area Community College, Chestnut Hill College, Lehigh University, John Hopkins University, Antioch University - Seattle, and the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.

As an award winning professional with 40+ years of experience of teaching and guiding graduate students, Dr. Kenney is in a unique position to lead higher education professionals as they navigate their career journey. With a background in counseling and an immense dedication to service, she is well equipped to do so in a healing and empowering manner.

As an academic, much of her research has focused on interracial couples and families, and thus Dr. Kenney has published an extensive list of relevant articles, book chapters in addition to co-authoring and co-editing two books. She has also conducted numerous presentations and trainings throughout the world.
